Cleveland Cavaliers Fans Weigh In On New Modern Logo

The Cleveland Cavaliers are loved by almost everyone in Cleveland. The Cavs are shining a light on The Land and now that light appears to be made of gold. The Cavaliers have unveiled some new modernized logos that bring the spirit of the past into the future. The Cavs announced these new logos via Instagram.

The logos will pay respect to some of the most iconic times for the Cavaliers organization, Like the 2016 championship era, the 80s, and some of the 90s. The Cavaliers were the most surprising team in the NBA last season even though they fell short of the playoffs the Cavs still have a very talented young core and are going to be a fun team to watch for many years to come.

Cavs creative director speaks out about the new logo

According to Cleveland.com, “It wasn’t necessarily something that was going to shock the fans, it was going to feel new, feel fresh, but also familiar,” Arsham said. “I also feel like the team is in a different place than we were certainly from our championship season (2016), and I kind of want to give our new young team their own mark that they can own as we move forward in this new era,” said Daniel Arsham, Cavaliers creative director, and artist.

Arsham became the team’s creative director in 2020 and he is in charge of anything the team wears. Arsham showed that his reputation proceeds him as an artist as he created the four-piece logo set by creating already existing elements with new ones.

The updated colorway is wine, gold, and black. It will be the same iconic wine color with more emphasis on gold as it will be shinier and more metallic like in the early 80s. This color of gold was also sprinkled through the first LeBron James era in 2010. As the Cavs shy away from the navy blue and the more mustard yellow the sword slicing through the ‘C’ has also been removed just to give it a different look. There will also be a standalone ‘V net’ logo with a ball going through it that strikes a resemblance to the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.

Cavs fans seem to love the new logo

Of course, Cavs fans had plenty to say about the new modern logo. “I AM SO HAPPY ABOUT THIS,” one person wrote. “GIVE ME THE GOLD I WANT THE GOLLLLD,” another commented. “All Gold Everything,” a third social media user stated. “Yeah I’m ready,” another said.

The Cavaliers will have a fresh new look for the next season as they look to really make some noise in the Eastern Conference and make a deep playoff push. The Cavs also have the 14th overall pick in the upcoming NBA draft for a chance to get another solid young player. Things are looking good for the Cavaliers and we can not wait for more Cleveland Cavaliers basketball.
