‘The Last Of Us’ Video Game Remake Has Some Fans Confused

On June 14th, 2013 Naughty Dog studios released a true masterpiece into the gaming world with a game called “The Last Of Us.” The game is a third-person “zombie” adventure game, per Playstation. The game has you play as Joel Miller, a father of one and a survivor. It starts out as Joel gets home from a late night at work, his daughter Sarah has fallen asleep on the couch waiting to give him a birthday present.

Later that night Sarah is jolted awake by a phone call from Joel’s brother Tommy. Tommy tries to explain that something is wrong as the phone cuts out leaving Sarah to wander the house to try and find her dad. Joel then runs outside being chased by their infected neighbor as he is left with no choice but to shoot him.

Tommy then pulls into the driveway to pick up Joel and Sarah as they try to get to safety. Unfortunately, the trio does not make it very far as they get into a car accident trying to cross an intersection where Sarah breaks her leg and can not walk. Joel is forced to carry his daughter as they try to outrun the infected and the careless drivers in the streets of Austin, Texas. As Joel and Sarah make it to their destination they meet a soldier who has been ordered to shoot them as he opens fire Tommy swoops in and takes the soldier down but to no avail as Sarah is fatally shot and dies at that spot.

What Is ‘The Last Of Us’ Game About?

Fast forward 20 years Joel is now in his forties living in a safe zone as he makes his living being a smuggler. He is then contracted to take a young girl named Ellie to a group outside the walls known as the fireflies. The girl is then found to be immune to the infection that has caused the end of the world and Joel now has to make a tough choice as he has grown attached to Ellie.

He has to either let her die to save the world and find a cure or save her and continue living in the apocalypse. Joel chooses to save Ellie as the game ends with them driving away back to his brother Tommy’s safe zone.

It is now rumored that “The Last Of Us” is getting a PS5 remake. Fans are not very happy with this, especially after being disappointed with The Last Of Us 2. Many fans who are also content creators and have large followings are very upset that they can not get a new game but instead are getting a game that has already been remastered for the PS4 and now maybe getting remade for the PS5.

Fans are confused about why Naughty Dog is remaking the game

According to We Got This Covered, some fans were confused about why “The Last Of Us” needed a remake, and even spoke out about with opinions stating the company should focus on making new games, not remaking previous ones. Meanwhile, HBO is also developing the game into a TV series.

Will Naughty Dog hear the cries of some fans and not remake “The Last Of Us?” Only time will tell.
